Our Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit The Silk Merchant.

We have both been friends for over 30 years (Yikes!) and for at least half of that time, we have dreamt of starting this exciting project together. Juggling our busy family lives alongside the running of successful businesses has kept us from bringing this to life until now. We are proud to introduce you to The Silk Merchant.

To us, silk is a magical material. Both natural and luxurious, there really is nothing quite like it, and it is our pleasure to offer it to you in our own unique way.

Rosalind’s intimate knowledge and love for Far Eastern silk goes right back to her days as a young woman growing up in Singapore.

We now handpick all of our products from the finest producers, and have a simple rule… If we don’t love it, we don’t sell it.

We are genuinely passionate about each and every piece we offer and we are certain that you will feel that too when you use our products and become part of The Silk Merchant family.
